The Treasurer has accused the previous government of leaving the issue of housing affordability to “fester” over the last decade.

Jim Chalmers said housing affordability one of a “number of economic challenges” the Albanese government had inherited.

“That’s what it is so important under the leadership of this Prime Minister and this terrific Housing Minister, that we have a broad and ambitious agenda when it comes to housing,” he said.
