Houston Fire Department was investigating a possible arson Thursday at an auction warehouse near Hobby Airport after the building caught fire two times in about a day, officials said. Firefighters around 12:38 a.m. responded to a two-alarm fire in the 8000 block of Tallyho Road, Rob Garcia, deputy chief with the Houston Fire Department, told On Scene reporters. But the Thursday morning blaze was the second time firefighters had to extinguish a fire at the warehouse, Garcia said. First responders also put out a fire Wednesday morning, he said.
It was not immediately clear what lead to the fires, he said. But firefighters discovered sheet metal pulled back on the opposite side of the building from the fire. And owners had reported security issues in recent days.
