There was this matter of finishing the second round of the Houston Open, prior to a 10:29 morning tee time to begin his third round.
Not deterred of the weather, Rose came out firing, carding a 4-under 66, just one shot behind Ben Taylor’s low score of the day. At 8 under through three rounds, the 2013 U.S. Open winner shares third place going into Sunday’s final 18 holes, seven shots behind leader Tony Finau. “I feel like I need to get my toe down on the accelerator a bit,” said Rose, the 2018 FedExCup champion. “Last couple seasons, I've been on the fringes looking from the outside in at the FedExCup. That’s not a position I want to continue to put myself in. At the end of the day, you need to get out here and play some tournaments and make some points.
