A Melbourne program is recycling millions of used soap bars from hotels, cleaning it and turning it back into bars ready to be donated to people in need.
What looks like a potato peeler whizzes across a tiny cube of soap, removing the outer layer, before it's lobbed into a pile.
"Seeing the volume that my business supplied going to landfill, I really felt compelled to do something, realising that I was part of the problem."While soap is abundant in hotels, globally, there's a dire shortage. The Bridge helps disadvantaged adults find long-term work, and Mrs Stolp told the ABC she was proud her team could be part of a project that helps people and the environment."The program we have with Soap Aid is actually five years in the making."So, we are delighted to create opportunities for people to work and that hygiene is improved around the world."
