According to Faisa Stafford, President and CFO of Life Happens, the main reasons people do not buy life insurance is because they don’t know about it or think it’s too expensive. “We’ve done a lot of research and we’ve seen the main obstacle to buying life insurance is education.
Shields has witnessed this pain firsthand as well, as an executor of a will when there wasn’t any life insurance. She says that it’s not just the long term hardships, but also the immediate burden that comes along with the death of a loved one, and the responsibility that falls on their family. “Losing a loved one is already such an emotional and stressful time; you just can’t think straight.” Shields say. “Then so many other factors come into play.
