A high school teacher who lost a dress made from vintage 70s material is delighted to receive an identical fit, after Facebook fans of a podcast hosted by ABC journalists band together.

An Adelaide high school teacher who lost a dress made from a vintage 1970s tablecloth has been reunited with an identical fit, after an appeal on Facebook went viral.Her sister-in-law, Alise Hardy, began to search online to find a replacementEleanor Russell thought her vintage dress might be gone forever, but much to her surprise she received an identical version on her 30th birthday.

"They even compensated me for it, but I guess money can't replace it, because it's vintage and it's unique." It is an online community of more than 41,000 people — who refer to themselves as 'chatters' — on a private Facebook group.Annabel Crabb and Leigh Sales during a live show of Chat 10 Looks 3."The group really rallies together, it's like having your own little group of detectives."

"We had offers of other dresses that were similar and tablecloths that were similar in colours and flowers.Ms Hardy investigated all the leads but said almost all of them came to a dead end."Someone from the group told me I should post in various other vintage fabric groups.
