Already ditched straws? This is the next step.
Granted, I rarely eat out at places where metal cutlery isn't provided. At work, I have a set of silver that I use for breakfast and lunch piled into athat sits on my desk. Still, occasionally, I'll end up going out for a quick bite between work and a show—or a weekend outing might run longer than expected and I'll dash into a fast-casual joint. And for the record, yes, I did feel like a giant dork the first time I used my travel silverware in public.
But seriously, no one cares that you're pulling out your own fork at Sweetgreen—Since I'm the only one using the straw—and I never use it for anything heartier than milky—it's easy enough to rinse in a sink or at a water fountain and stash back in the pencil case.
