More than half of all NIL activations processed through Opendorse's platform from July 1, 2021 through March 31, 2023 were delivered on Instagram, per the company's report. Twitter was the second most common social app for NIL campaigns, receiving 35% of activations. Snapchat and TikTok were much less common, representing just 6% and 3% of activations of NIL deals, respectively, per Opendorse's report.
Of course, deals for college athletes in high-paying sports can rise well beyond a few thousand dollars. University of Miami guard Nijel Pack scored a two-year NIL deal worth $800,000 as part of his offseason transfer from Kansas State, CBS SportsWomen's college basketball players were the fourth highest earners on average for brand deals, with an average of $1,418 per deal. Some players in the sport have already hit the NIL jackpot.
