After arriving in Costa Rica, Kaitlin Armstrong “changed her appearance drastically.”

The accused killer of an elite San Francisco cyclist fled the country using a passport of someone who resembled her, the U.S. Marshals Service said.of Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, the marshals agency initially said she had used a fake passport. Costa Rican authorities, however, clarified it was a real passport but in someone else’s name.

Filla gave this timeline of the six-week search for Armstrong, who was wanted in the May 11 fatal shooting in Austin, Texas, of Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson, 25:: Police in Austin interviewed Armstrong about the previous night’s murder. They had a warrant for her arrest on an unrelated crime — failing to pay a spa for a botox treatment in 2018 — but she was allowed to leave because of a discrepancy in her birthdate on the paperwork.
