It was a decade ago that a student at Chardon High School brought a gun in the building and shot six fellow students, killing three of them. Here's how survivors are using the experience to do good.

The former principal of Columbine High School reached out to Fetchik in the days after the shooting.Fetchik and others who were there that day now advocate in Columbus for changes to safety measures and policies, but he admits things aren’t moving as quickly as they’d like.Some of the focus in the years since the shooting is on social media, and preventing school violence from within the school community.

“It’s never comfortable. Each time it takes a little bit out of you. I know it’s important that we have to do this. But it’s not easy. But for Danny, Demetrius and Russell, we do it,” said Hall. And more schools are doing the kind of lock down drills that saved lives that day. But there are still concerns.
