Staked to that big early lead, lefthander Ranger Suárez, bumped up a day in the rotation due to Monday’s rainout, was in command from the start. He blanked the Astros on three singles through five innings, before giving way to the bullpen. They also didn’t seem to mind going against McCullers, whom they saw October 3, the night they clinched their wild card playoff spot. Just having familiarity with what he threw made a difference.
