The men on the team moved into position to engage the enemy while the women stayed back to hold their position. “I might as well just have signed my own discharge papers,” she says. In order to facilitate the care that was needed, she felt as though the military would have likely taken her out of service, which was something she was not willing to do as she was committed to serving her country and fulfilling her duties.
