Three gorgeous concoctions: Deer Valley , Great Salt Lake , and Wasatch Sage , to be used in dishes and cocktails at St. Regis’s bar and J&G Grill.

He gives his students a new outlook on spices and how to use them at home. In addition to the obvious, Sercarz has many not-so-average uses for spices—like adding them to freshly brewed coffee as an easy way to elevate your morning cup.
While it all boils down to personal taste preference, “everything is worth trying at least once,” Sercarz says, so think outside the box when it comes to flavor profiles. Reap the benefits of adding a blend to a hot or cold cup of joe, and voilà!—a magical cup that caters to your taste buds. “Add to cold brews as you are making them to get more flavor,” he advises. “You can also add them to the grounds if you’re using a French press, [or] mix them with milk and then steam.
