A yellow weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office warning of heavy thunderstorms and showers over the weekend. As well as the risk of lightning strikes and possible flooding, in some areas people may also find another unwelcome prospect, thunder flies.

There are around 150 species of thunder flies native to Britain.
To get rid of thunder flies, spotting them early is your best bet. Wherever you spot the bugs, apply narrow-range oil, neem oil, or insecticidal soaps.
