For some women, recent layoffs have meant taking risks and going all in on their side gig. Others have taken extra measures to scale their businesses, while some have learned to pivot and thrive exactly where they are.
Almost one year later, EZ Elopements LLC officially launched and became Malone's side gig while she maintained her full-time job. Shortly afterward, the Covid-19 pandemic threw her young business a colossal curveball.
“We grew our business when many in the industry were going up in flames. This taught us that burning the bridge of safety, which was in our full-time employment, can be a good thing.”Entrepreneur Sarah Hagstrom has been familiar with the need to pivot due to life's uncertainties since she was young. Growing up, she went to 6 different schools from kindergarten through high school.
"In the early stages of building my business, I often didn't feel smart or capable enough, and I struggled with imposter syndrome," Hagstrom said."Neither one of my parents graduated from college, and I had no entrepreneurs in my family. I realized that having no examples or guidance was the root of where many of my limiting beliefs stemmed. I confronted those beliefs and learned to let them go.
