This disparity disproportionately affects rural, low-income, minority and tribal communities in Texas that often face greater risks and challenges. We must guarantee that 911 is accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities, non-English speakers, and those residing in rural and small-town areas. In this era, 911 must be unwaveringly reliable, resilient, secure, and impervious to natural disasters, cyberattacks and other threats.
With a timely injection of federal funding in the next few years, NG911 will achieve substantial deployment, ensuring a uniform 911 experience for all, regardless of ZIP code.
