The production of the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon has been postponed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The movie, which was scheduled to begin filming this month in Belfast, has a release date set for March 14, 2025.
This live-action remake of Dreamworks’s 2010 animated movie was set to startin Titanic Studios in Belfast this month. The release date is currently set for March 14, 2025. However, given that the cast is comprised mainly of SAG-AFTRA actors who are unable to work under the strike, they cannot act in the film until a contract is in place.
How to Train Your Dragon is produced by Marc Platt Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures. Dean DeBlois, the writer and director for all three movies in the animated trilogy, will also be the writer and director of this movie.The cast currently includes Mason Thames as Hiccup and Nico Parker as Astrid.Jonathan Sim is a film critic and filmmaker born and raised in New York City.
