Victoria has more than 160 COVID-19 outbreaks made up of more than 2000 active cases. Here is how the second wave spread so quickly. COVID19
Deputy chief medical officer Michael Kidd has said the government is "very concerned" about Victoria's COVID-19 outbreak, particularly the cases in aged care facilities.
"People must be staying at home and arranging to get tested. This way we are doing all we can to protect vulnerable Australians.""About 20 per cent of people in Australia are living with a disability. There are two reasons why people with disability on the whole are at greater risk from the COVID-19 virus," he said.
"The second is that many people with disability rely on support from family members, from carers and support workers and they may require close physical contact with a number of people each day which puts people at greater potential risk of exposure to the virus."
