Acute shortages have reportedly caused women to share prescriptions, with some said to be made suicidal by debilitating menopause symptoms.
HRT can help relieve most menopausal symptoms, including hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and reduced sex drive.The Royal Pharmaceutical Society said prescriptions for HRT have more than doubled in England over the past five years, from 238,000 in January 2017 to almost 538,000 in December 2021.
