Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy fears he won’t have star playmaker Jahrome Hughes as they fight to keep their season alive in a knockout final on Friday night.
Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy admits star halfback Jahrome Hughes is unlikely to play in their elimination semi-final against Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park on Friday night.last week’s qualifying final loss
The 28-year-old has scored seven tries and had 21 try assists this season and is one of the team’s leaders in attack. The Storm are expected to give Hughes until the last minute to prove his fitness but are clearly preparing to be without him. The Storm have opted to use Garlick as the Grant’s “nightwatchman” in a couple of games this season with Garlick taking the heavy challenges in the opening 15 minutes before Grant replaces him.Bellamy wouldn’t rule out some version of that tactic against the strong ball-runners from the Roosters.
