Ms Liddle was reported missing by her family in January. She was last seen in the Mooball area in northern NSW on October 31, 2019.

Yesterday, cadaver dogs led detectives to a campsite deep in the bush near Tallow Beach about 1.20pm. Human remains were found in the search for missing woman Thea Liddle, but have not been formally identified."We do not know at this point in time whether those remains are male or female, we have no idea of the identity of that deceased person," Detective Chief Inspector Brendon Cullen, Crime Manager of Tweed Byron Police Districts said today.A crime scene was established, and forensic officers are examining the area and a number of items found nearby.

"It appears to have been a camp site previously and there are a number of items there which will be subject to forensic examination as well," Detective Chief Inspector Cullen said.
