After formally winning the vote, he will be sworn in as first minister of Scotland at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Wednesday, and then on Thursday will face rival party leaders in his opening First Minister’s Questions. He said that the SNP leadership contest showed him are many people ‘feeling the significant pressures of the cost-of-living crisis’, and vowed to lead Scotland ‘through the tough times.’
