Hundreds of Coles Online shoppers have reportedly been debited twice for their delivery orders due to an IT glitch — including one customer who now cannot afford to pay her car insurance. The anonymous South Australian shopper told 7 NEWS .com.au her $300 shop had been debited twice from her bank account.

The shopper said the extra $300 was needed for her car insurance payment and, because of the Coles error, she will now be driving an uninsured car until the mistakenly deducted funds are returned. She said the Coles Online customer support representative told her the issue was affecting “hundreds” of people who ordered delivery for Monday. 7NEWS.com.au understands the error was occurring nationally. A Coles spokesperson on Tuesday told 7NEWS.com.
