Hundreds of volunteers from across Scotland came together for an event celebrating the hard work and dedication of those helping to run The Scottish Pantry Network .
Volunteers at TSPN, were invited to attend Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel to acknowledge the hard work that has been put in to help grow the pantry network.There are more than 300 volunteers throughout the country at the pantries set up in Glasgow, Inverclyde, Ayrshire, East and Midlothian and have the main aim of redistributing food that would otherwise end up in landfill.
TSPN which will turn three years old this September has also benefitted from more than £1 million investment from Glasgow City Council.Speaking after the event, Ms Morgan, said: “The event, which marks the start of Volunteers’ Week, was really well attended and we had about 100 people attend where from East Lothian, Mid Lothian, Glasgow and Ayrshire as well came along.
