Donald Sutherland has heartbreakingly passed away at age 88, with his family sharing the news to social media in a touching tribute.
Sharing the news via X, his 24-year-old son Kiefer wrote: "With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived."
Alongside Kiefer, Donald is survived by his wife Francine Racette, kids Roeg, Rossif, Angus, and Rachel and four grandchildren. Deadline reports that a private celebration of life will be held by the family. While Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall also shared a tribute to the star, writing: "Such sad news! Was always a favorite. Was always wonderful. Broke your heart in ‘Ordinary People’ RIPx"
