Police have released security camera footage of a drive-by shooting at the home of Australian heavyweight boxing champion, Justis Huni
All of a sudden, a broken hand and a missed Olympic Games doesn’t feel quite so dire for Justis Huni, the young and talented Australian heavyweight boxing champion. Having your family home attacked by a random shooter gives you a fresh dose of perspective.
Nobody was injured in the attack but 10 people were at the family home. One of those was a six-month-old baby who is regularly fed in a living room chair that was hit by one of the rounds. The family, especially Justis’ father and trainer, Rocki, has been left shaken and bereft of answers. Australian boxer Justis Huni speaks with his father Rocki Huni outside of the family home after the shooting. After that, he suffered twin bouts of COVID as he tried to make a return to the ring. In the meantime, Australian boxing forged onwards, with George Kambosos junior winning a suite of lightweight belts and Tim Tszyu making his US debut and earning himself a world title fight in the near future.
“I’ve been doing a lot of work with sitting down on my punches and projecting more power into my punches. We will see,” Huni said.
