Health Minister Greg Hunt has implored Australians to get their hearts checked after Kimberley Kitching and Shane Warne, who were both aged 52, died within one week of each other.

The two Australians, who were both aged 52, suffered suspected heart attacks within one week of each other, with the news of Ms Kitching’s death breaking overnight.

Picture: Jake Nowakowski The Health Minister described Ms Kitching’s death as a “tremendous loss” and remembered the Senator for her “energy for life”.“A great loss to the Parliament, to the nation, but, above all else, to her husband Andrew and her broader family and friends.”She reportedly felt unwell while driving between meetings and pulled over to call her husband Andrew Landeryou.

Warne died from a suspected heart attack on Friday while on a boys trip on the popular holiday island of Koh Samui.The deaths followed the passing of former Test wicket-keeper Rod Mash, who died on Friday March 4 after suffering a heart attack a week earlier.
