, we are watching closely to determine if evacuations in Zone A is the safest option for citizens. We will make this decision early Wednesday morning, but if you live in Zone A please be prepared for this possible scenario.Zone A, typically the first to evacuate in the event of a hurricane, includes substantial sectors of Duval County.
Included within Zone A are most of Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach; some neighborhoods along the St. Johns River, Trout River and Julington Creek; a large section of the northeastern section of the county, particularly residential areas along Heckscher Drive; and assorted low-lying areas ranging from the far north of Arlington to homes on the edge of Ortega.
