Husband's arrival thwarts home-invasion robbery in Lemon Grove [Breaking]
Three robbers broke into a Lemon Grove home on Tuesday afternoon, one of whom threatened a resident with a knife, before the victim’s husband came home and scared them off, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The home-invasion robbery was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. at a home on Central Avenue near Citrus Street, said sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Carpenter. Two men and a woman entered the home and attempted to steal items, the lieutenant said. One of the intruders brandished a knife.They were “interrupted by the husband coming home,” Carpenter said, and all three took off running.
The department did not release a detailed description of the robbers. Witnesses did not report seeing a vehicle. The victim wasn’t injured and nothing was taken, Carpenter said. Detectives are investigating the incident.
