Hyundai Australia has issued a recall for 3566 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 electric vehicles due to a software fault that could cause a loss of power. The issue stems from a problem in the Integrated Charging Control Unit, which may prevent the auxiliary 12-volt battery from charging properly, leading to battery drainage and a loss of motive power. This could increase the risk of accidents.
Hyundai Australia has recalled 3566 examples of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 electric vehicles , due to a fault that could lead to a loss of power. “Due to a software issue in the Integrated Charging Control Unit, the auxiliary 12-volt battery may not charge as intended, resulting in battery drainage and loss of motive power,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
