Colorado transportation officials closed Interstate 70 in several locations Wednesday night as a snowstorm hit Denver and the mountains.
Colorado State Patrol in Golden warned that stuck vehicles were blocking the road on I-70 at Floyd Hill and Mount Vernon Canyon; on U.S. 6 in Clear Creek Canyon; on Colorado 119 between Denver and Blackhawk; on U.S. 285 between Morrison and Pine Junction.The National Weather Service in Boulder predicted between 4 and 6 inches of snowfall in Denver through Thursday morning. The mountains around Vail could get between 6 and 8 inches and the foothills could receive 6 and 8 inches.
