It's now thought anywhere between two and 40 per cent of those who catch COVID-19 are ending up with long-COVID. What's being done to help those still struggling with symptoms long after they should have recovered?

Bruce McCallum and his wife Di were among the first Australians to catch COVID-19 back in early 2020.Statistics show up to 40 per cent of COVID patients are developing long COVIDLife hasn't been the same since."What I was, to what I am now, in physical ability, is considerably different.

Ms McCallum said she noticed differences in her husband of five decades "immediately", including severe fatigue and weakness, memory troubles and facial numbness.Bruce and Di McCallum during the Ruby Princess cruise in 2020.The McCallum's are among dozens of patients referred to a newly opened Long COVID Assessment Clinic at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

"Nationally what we're seeing is anything from about two per cent to 40 per cent [of COVID patients develop long COVID], which is quite concerning.
