, how large infinity is – and the fact that you could never reach the end. I remember my mind being blown by that concept. It was a world of wonder to me.: Yes. I was particularly lucky to have a wonderful maths teacher at Cheltenham Girls High School, Mrs Rosemary Leslie, who fostered my passion.

Someone likeon television? It just seems so bizarre that that would be the case – I had never even been in a TV studio before, and when the host Richard Morecroft introduced me as the cameras rolled, it was the first time I’d even been on a stage at all.
