Michael Daley has reaffirmed his intention to sack the majority of the prestigious SCG Trust board, including Alan Jones, in a fiery exchange on the 2GB presenter's own show

"My board will be representative of modern day society and they won't be engaging in this sort of cloak and dagger we've seen with this board," he said later at a press conference.Mr Daley said it was not a snap decision and he broke the news to Jones "face-to-face as courtesy" because they "always had a good relationship".

On Jones' show, Mr Daley revealed the board had sent him a letter in December outlining their arguments for the rebuild, including the lack of fire sprinklers and issues with emergency exits. "Some of the [claims] were about safety and compliance, that the stadium wasn’t built for today’s standards and it was unsafe," he said. "Well I make this point - the ladies' stand and the Members' Stand at the SCG are made of wood. They don’t comply with today’s standards either. I don’t see people rushing to try and knock them down."

He said he was shocked to learn the "archaic" board had spent $20 million on a new "super screen" and internet upgrades two years ago.
