Frustration spilled to the outside of an East Oakland church where Oakland city leaders met with residents to address crime.
Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, acting Police Chief Darren Allison, and Alameda District Attorney Pamela Price joined community members to discuss crime in the city.
"Calling for a state of emergency right now when we are doing everything that the order would allow us to do," said Mayor Thao. "Let's call it what it is: political theater." Bonita, who has lived in Oakland for over 5 decades, said she's fed up. She's a property manager who has had guns pulled on her multiple times in Oakland.
