Yellow Brick Road chairman Mark Bouris has voiced his concerns over the threat of further rate hikes, warning of a recession in a discussion on Sky News Australia.

Mr Bouris appeared on First Edition on Wednesday morning a day after the Reserve Bank of Australia revealed its minutes from the May monetary policy meeting.

"There is a lot of talk around at the moment that there has been some internal analysis done of the economy at the RBA and that internal analysis has revealed that there’s an 80 per cent chance of us going to a recession. "Inflation in Australia has passed its peak, but at seven per cent is still too high and it will be some time yet before it is back in the target range," Mr Lowe said following the Reserve Bank's decision to increase interest rates at the beginning of May.
