New Hawk Jack Ginnivan has revealed what he thinks about his former club Collingwood, as he was one of Hawthorn’s best in a season-opening loss to Essendon at the MCG.

Collingwood maintain they are at ease with their decision to let Jack Ginnivan go, but the premiership star’s performance for Hawthorn on Saturday will have fans wondering if the Magpies made the right call.

“I feel like I’ve gone all in on myself and tried to improve. I feel like I am fitter. I am still adapting to the new system, the way we play. I have really close mates there, Isaac and John Noble, they are two of my best mates,” a diplomatic Ginnivan said.

McKay was a marking presence in defence, and he is a pillar the Bombers have craved. Unfortunately, fellow tall defender, the luckless Zach Reid, whose career has been derailed by hamstring surgery and back problems, faces more time on the sidelines because of a hamstring issue.
