NDIS Minister Bill Shorten has become the latest Labor frontbencher to rebuke former prime minister Paul Keating for his comments attacking the government’s latest defence pact.
NDIS Minister Bill Shorten opposes Paul Keating ’s disdain for the new AUKUS pact, Australia ’s reliance on its ‘aggressive’ ally
Mr Keating said the new agreement tied to the AUKUS pact included"political commitments" to Australia's two key allies, which effectively meant “He’s a great Australian, he’s entitled to his views. I don’t share his views to the ANZUS alliance though,” Mr Shorten said. Mr Shorten followed Defence Minister Richard Marles in being vocally adamant against Mr Keating’s notion in support of the new defence agreement.
