Celebrity chef and MasterChef winner Julie Goodwin has opened up about her mental health months after going public with her battles with depression, anxiety and addiction.
MasterChef winner Julie Goodwin has provided a major update on her mental health months after going public about the “darkest time” of her life.
However, the mum-of-three was secretly battling mental health demons as her star rose, which culminated in a mid-range drink driving offence in 2018 and an attempt on her own life two years later. The star cook went on to describe how she wandered into a park and was considering taking her own life before a young couple sensed her distress.
The experience prompted Goodwin to seek professional help and she was checked into a mental health ward.On Thursday, Goodwin spoke to Nine Honey about her mental health journey and revealed she was in a good place."But it's a concentrated effort to remain good, you know. I've learnt so much over the past few years about what I need to do to be well and now I just put priority on those things.
