NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has revealed why the flood response fell short, issuing a heartfelt apology to flood-stricken communities.
Speaking to Sky News Australia’s Danica De Giorgio on the ground in flood-stricken Lismore, the Premier responded to claims that the immediate emergency reaction was insufficient.
“There’s no doubt that some of the smaller communities there’s a sense of abandonment and I feel very sorry about that.” State Emergency Service members are seen near a flooded area in Windsor, Sydney's north-west, on March 4. “But ultimately right now my focus is to get this clean-up done, to get people into homes to get business and financial support out to people.”
