After being shackled for eight hours to a hospital bed with no food, water or blanket, Hayley Haigh is speaking out about her experiences in the public health system.

"No-one came to speak to me, so I was shackled for eight hours with no food, no water, no blanket," she said.It was the third time Ms Haigh had been shackled in the South Australian public health system, which ended with her "feeling like a criminal". "I felt like I was being punished and I hadn't done anything wrong — I had gone to seek treatment," she said.
"Up until the past 12 months I've had the biggest challenge of having doctors not want to treat me," she said.Bruises on Hayley Haigh's wrist after shackles were used on her.Despite that, she felt the system had let her down.
