Jenny Morrison has revealed she 'felt sick' when unverified text messages described her husband as a 'complete psycho'. 9News
|The Prime Minister's wife, Jenny Morrison, has revealed she "felt sick" when unverified text messages from an anonymous cabinet minister described her husband, Scott Morrison, as a "complete psycho"., Mrs Morrison said she was watching her husband's National Press Club speech from home when it was derailed by a reporter's question.
"I just thought it was such a poor question with such bad intent, that those people just have no idea how it would affect my family," Mrs Morrison said. The mother-of-two has preferred to remain in the background for most of her husband's political career, but on rare occasions, she speaks publicly."I'm not a fan of politics. I just find it too much, too ruthless, too much going on," she said.
The most infamous occasion was her family's ill-timed Hawaiian holiday during Australia's devastating 2019-2020 bushfire season."I thought I was making the right decision for my kids. I obviously was wrong," she recalled.Whatever the result of the federal election, Scott Morrison's family will still be by his side.
Mrs Morrison also found herself a reluctant participant in the controversy that followed political staffer Brittany Higgins' allegations about being raped in Parliament House by a colleague. At the time, the prime minister said it took a conversation with his wife for him to act — for the first time, Mrs Morrison revealed to 60 Minutes what she said to her husband.
Fronting cameras and shaking hands isn't a role she's particularly comfortable with, but she's hitting the campaign trail because she thinks her husband is the best man for the top job.And as for his critics, she has little time for them.
