‘I hate that word’: Aussie star rubbishes cricket myth ahead of milestone match
The Australian women’s cricket team begins preparing for next year’s T20 World Cup this weekend, with the world’s No. 1 ranked team looking to evolve its game after a lacklustre winter campaign in the United Kingdom.
“They’ve been nearly unbeatable,” West Indies coach and former South Australian batter Shane Deitz confessed this week. “I hate that word. I don’t believe in it,” Schutt, who will play her 100th T20I on Sunday, told Fox Cricket. “We were lucky enough to go through an extremely consistent period by doing the basic things really well, and now other people are probably starting to get that flare and do that well, which kind of overtakes the basics in some ways.
