The decision went to a party vote this morning and the appointment was announced just after 10am.
Perrottet celebrated Kean's record as treasurer and details of the recent state budget, in particular the reforms to childcare and cost of living pressures."We know the biggest issue around dinner tables right around our state is the cost of living pressures." The previous deputy, Stuart Ayres, resigned last week over his involvement in the appointment of John Barilaro to a coveted trade posting in New York."I spoke to both David and Matt in relation to the importance of unity and they both understood that," Perrottet said.
