The Queensland government has backed the state’s top cop amid reports that she will face criticism in an inquiry report on the force’s culture of sexism, misogyny and racism. 7NEWS

Carroll said she was deeply shocked by the comments, condemning the language as “truly abhorrent” and not in alignment with the QPS.The commissioner staunchly defended her tenure as the state’s top cop, but admitted it had been a challenging period for the service.“It has been an extraordinarily difficult, difficult time.”Credit:She said that, despite mounting pressure on her leadership, she had no intention of resigning, believing she was the right person to drive cultural change.
“Our reform takes, in the best environment, anywhere from three to five years, just get the system - the processes, the training, the education - in place. “I do believe I’m in the right position ... I have had extensive experience in reform, and I have commenced extensive reform, and it is incredibly important to take that forward.”
