Chief Health Officer has accidentally revealed mask mandates will be part of the state's back-to-school plan.
Dr John Gerrard said in today's COVID-19 update press conference that masks will be mandatory for students in year seven and above, ahead of the official announcement of the return to school plan. "Masks will be mandatory from year seven and above, and encouraged for those above year three," he said.Dr Gerrard accidentally revealed part of the state's back to school plan before it has been officially announced."Let's wait until the plan is officially released — I probably should not be speaking until it is officially released.""Parents shouldn't be worried about the plan," he said.
It comes as Queensland recorded 10,391 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours and 12 further deaths.
