Having spent seven years at Rugby League Central and then five months in the top job in an interim capacity, Abdo is under no illusions about the pressure that will be brought to bear. He has worked closely with previous NRL chief executives Todd Greenberg and Dave Smith, and caught up with another former league boss, David Gallop, for coffee a fortnight ago.
