Hospitality tech firm Liven has kept a relatively low profile for a tech start-up, but it has now completed a $152m acquisition spree and has big expectations.

Liven was co-founded in 2014 by siblings Grace and William Wong with David Ballerini, and they were joined by former Guzman y Gomez chief digital officer Shahrooz Chowdhury in 2017, who is co-CEO with Mr Wong.

It is hoping that by bringing together multiple tech services, which will all then incorporate its tokens, it can hoover up major clients globally as the hospitality sector continues a rapid digitisation that began with lockdown-era home deliveries. “So much work has been done, and each piece of it could have been a news story, like when we raised or bought something – but we have always been quiet, because we always wanted to be telling the story when we are really ready.”
