The King Kong burger came to the attention of LancsLive thanks to Youtuber Rate My Takeaway, who put the dish through its paces earlier this week. The location of the video, West Coast Rock Café is located on Abingdon Street in the town. The burger is described as a 'double monster burger, topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, ham, sausage, mozzarella cheese, BBQ sauce and their very own West Coast chilli sauce.' Huge, right?I am a huge fan of a burger, and I've tried plenty in my time. But I've never ever come across anything quite like this. West Coat Rock Café has both eat in and take away options, so after a long day traipsing around Blackpool in the rain, I thought I'd take my food home with me.
I'm not sure if the presentation helped here, as the burger was spread over two bun bases, side by side, with one bun topper connecting the two. I had to to take five minutes before deciding I was just going to try and take a bite. In hindsight I should have deconstructed it as it was very messy to lift and I could hardly fit it in my mouth.
