A spring clean can earn you a cool amount of cash 💸
Ahead of going away on a nine-week trip, my husband and I sorted through the clutter in our home My husband and I had decided to sublet our house while we took a post-Covid trip to the South of France to see our French family., we needed to pack everything away into the loft. Looking at what needed to be removed felt completely overwhelming – surely we didn’t need to keep it all?
Looking at a mountain of old clothes, I put out a message on Instagram stories half-jokingly asking if anyone could help me with decluttering and selling my things. However, between running my business and childcare, I was short on time. I eventually relented and got the professionals in. I had an Elvie breast pump and a Stokke baby and toddler cot to sell and this, alongside a few of the children’s toys, sold quickly on a local Facebook group. We made £340 in total.
We were ruthless with the rest of the baby clothes and children’s toys. Next, we are planning to do a Mum2Mum market. It costs £25 to take a stand out at a locally-held event that is essentially a boot fair for only children’s things. We actually bought a lot of our own children’s things from there as a way to save money so it’s gone full circle.
